The Path to Desires

By Mary K

Do you ever find yourself stuck and struggling? You look around and notice that you are not exactly where you expected to find yourself… the bank account seems to move backwards, the lifestyle you used to dream of as a teenager seems like a pipe dream, and time just seems to be moving faster and faster everyday, leaving us with the feeling there is never enough of it?

On top of all of that, you keep hearing about the ‘Secret‘ to living the life of your dreams along with the buzzword ‘Law of Attraction‘. So you’ve explored the notion of making your dreams come true, maybe experienced a few successes only to be followed by one crushing blow after another. So… do you decide it’s a bogus and you are again left at the whims of fate? Or perhaps you conclude that there may be something more to it but it would require the dedication of a saint… something you have neither the time nor aspiration to become?

Well, today I want to share one little snippet from the wisdom of Abraham found in Esther and Jerry Hicks book, Ask and It Is Given. It speaks to the simple understanding required if you really want to receive all of your desires. If you’re lucky it will reveal to you how to lighten up on the trip to those desires so you don’t turn back too soon.

You are in the Perfect Position to Get There From Here

Nothing has to change in your environment or in the circumstances that surround you for you to begin to deliberately allow your own connection to the Stream of Well-Being. You could be in prison, you could have been diagnosed with a terminal illness, you could be facing bankruptcy, or you could be in the middle of a divorce. Still, you are in the perfect place, right now, to begin. And we also want you to understand that this will not require a great deal of time, for it only requires a simple understanding of the Universal Laws, and a determination to move toward a state of allowing.

When you drive your vehicle from place to place, you have an awareness of your starting place as well as an awareness of where you are going. You accept that you cannot get there instantaneously; you accept that you will travel the distance, and in time, you will arrive at your destination. And while you may feel anxious to get there, and maybe even tire of the journey, you do not get so discouraged at the midway mark that you just turn around and go back to your starting place. You do not drive back and forth and back and forth from your starting point to the midway point and then finally collapse from the never-ending journey.

You do not announce your inability to accomplish your journey. You accept the distance between your starting place and where you desire to be — and you continue to move in the direction of your destination. You understand what is required — and you do it. And we want you to come to know that the journey between where you are and where you want to be — on all subjects — cam be just as easily understood.

Isn’t that FANTASTIC? I don’t know about you, but for me the first read through that was so revealing. It was such a relief to gain that perspective of looking at my journey to my desires as if I were taking a trip.

In fact, it wasn’t until I started to understand this that I started really taking advantage of a variety of tools that would support me on my journey… like using my VISIONBOARD

I’ve found that just like a road trip with a specific destination calls for a vehicle in good condition and a map to follow… my visionboard is the map that keeps me headed in the direction of my dreams. And looking at it that way has really ramped up the value of tweaking and peeking at my visionboard ‘map’ on a regular basis… because I can’t believe the difference it has made in keeping me on track.

So today I invite you to stop announcing your inability to accomplish your journey and instead… describe that terrific destination you’re headed to with joy!

Happy Trails!
