Yes, I suppose after tomorrow we will be expected to address you as ‘Mr. President’, yet for today, you are still Barack. In our hearts… in our minds… on our tongues. I hope you embrace that as the compliment I believe it to be. It speaks to the power of your eloquence and your inner light that shines in the direction of hope… a hope for a change in direction that will lead to a better America, a better World.

As you summon the courage required to take on the challenging job as President of the united states of America I find myself writing to remind you that we, the keepers of the light, have your back.

When the moments arrive, as they surely will, that you…

…feel your courage faltering, know that we hold confidence for you… so be courageous anyway.

…feel barraged by the many voices around you, wondering in which lies wisdom… go within and trust your inner wisdom.

…feel tempted to under-estimate ‘we, the people’… let it go and risk over-estimating us, let the world be surprised.

I read the letter you wrote to Malia and Sasha and all the children in America. You speak of many, wonderful things… most importantly, you speak with LOVE.

Mr. Barack Obama… there lies your greatest power. Oh, many will scoff, and yet somehow I trust you know the power that Love wields — and I have a hunch (which is bigger than a hope) that you have the courage and sense to let LOVE LEAD. You understand the deep truth in Martin Luther King Jr.’s words when he said,

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

As we embark on this new journey together let’s make a pact to LET LOVE LEAD and ENJOY THE RIDE!!!
