Do you love your body?
Posted by: | Comments
Do you know who you REALLY are??? You are a beautiful, perfect, infinite Being and any story that expresses less than that is the real ‘lie’!
So start telling the story of who you really are!!!
Start telling a story that feels more downstream to you. And how do you know what’s downstream and what’s upstream? You can tell by the pressure against you. In other words…
tell the story of your successes, tell the story of your strengths, tell the story of your beauty, tell the story of your caring, tell the story of your passions, tell the story of how wonderfully your body functions, tell the story of health… find the story that feels better to you and get off your own back because guess what…
The Universe will ALWAYS back up your story!!!
So if you can’t look at your current body now and LOVE IT then look at your past or future body and LOVE IT or look at something else all together different that you do LOVE and your body will get up to speed.
The ‘smoking’ battle…
Posted by: | Comments
Earlier today someone acknowledged they had started smoking this summer after a 7 year abstinence. And they wanted some suggestions about how they could make a statement about wanting to stop. A few people started to respond to this request and I watched as the conversation seemed to devolve into a… “Man how stupid am I?” “What an idiot”, “Just find the willpower to quit” and other similar statements.
It occurred to me that this was totally missing the point and a great example of how we cover up the real issue by focusing (with great judgment, mind you) on the behavior that results from the real issue. So after a bit I simply couldn’t resist sharing the following:
okay… I’ve just gotta jump in here and want to be totally transparent so I’ll first share that I am a HAPPY smoker by choice. However, please understand I have no interest or attachment around persuading you about ‘smoking’ or ‘not smoking’.
The reason I feel inspired to jump in is because I think you’re failing to consider the real answer to your actual question. In other words…
What is it you REALLY want???
Please go beneath the surface issue of the smoking cigarettes. And for heaven’s sake (literally) stop berating yourself and calling yourself unpleasant names. Damning the cigarette or damning yourself simply damns up the energy flow.
What were you feeling when you decided this summer to begin smoking again? What was it you were really reaching for when you reached for that first smoke? I suspect you were aware of some sort of misalignment with your Source… and you grabbed a smoke to soothe yourself back into alignment… or something along those lines. Because you see, what we all really want is to feel good, to feel curious, to feel joyful anticipation, to feel satisfied, to feel abundant, to feel….
Don’t fall into the trap of making up that the smoking, per se, is the issue. Consider the idea that How you feel and how to get back into alignment is the issue. And start exploring that. Start looking more deeply at the question… What do I really want? – and start listening more closely to the answers that surface from within. And follow the inspiration that comes. And you may discover you find an even better way to soothe yourself back into alignment and you can thank yourself and your smoke for softening you up enough to get there!

Here’s what I know for sure…
Everything we choose to do is because at some level, in the moment, we believe it will make us feel better. It seems to me that we could each benefit from easing up on our focus on behaviors and instead start to address what’s really going on within ourselves.
Though we might have our own preferences in terms of what soothes us back into our connection… we miss the point altogether when we get distracted by our dislike for others choices… whether that’s burning a cigarette or burning a candle… let’s celebrate getting re-connected with Source and trust that the ‘tools’ used are always going to shift and change over time. When we can do that we will stop making mountains out of molehills and live happily ever after!
What’s your style? Superhero

- Write a story about yourself. In the story give yourself the two Super-Powers you chose. What would you do? Where would you go? What, if anything, would you change about the world?
- Ask a friend to choose two Super-Powers. Spend an afternoon together pretending you have those powers. Can you use your special powers to help each other? Try writing a skit and performing it for your family or classmates.
More Than Make-believe
Everything you’re interested in, every choice you make, tells you something about yourself. But you have to think about your choices to understand what they mean.
The special powers listed can be more than make- believe. You can be invisible by being quiet and listening. You can read other people’s minds by listening and being compassionate. You can fly by going beyond your expectations.
What other ways can you make these Super-Powers come true for you?

All the Time and Money in the world…
Posted by: | Comments
A friend recently asked,
“If you had all the money in the world & all the time in the world (really)… what would you do with your money & time (really)?”
It got me thinking… seriously. About what might be different in my life and what’s up around that.
It’s clear that we all have 24 hours in each day. And every day we choose how we are going to allocate each hour of that day. So really… we all already have “all the time in the world”. We only need reflect on our past week to discover how we would use it. Read More→
‘Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey’
Posted by: | CommentsI may be the only one constantly curious about the origins of various expressions found in language… yet I doubt it.
In the spirit of ‘making things up’ I thought it might be fun to occassionally share what I find, etymologically speaking, around various phrases. Since I just discovered the origin of the phrase, “It’s cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey!” I’ll start with that:
In the heyday of sailing ships, all war ships and many freighters carried iron cannons. Those cannons fired round iron cannon balls.
It was necessary to keep a good supply near the cannon. However, how to prevent them from rolling about the deck? The best storage method devised was a square-based pyramid with one ball on top, resing on four, resting on nine, which rested on sixteen. Thus, a supply of 30 cannon balls could be stacked in a small area right next to the cannon. There was only one problem… how to prevent the bottom layer from sliding or rolling from under the others.
The solution was a metal plate called a ‘Monkey’ with 16 round indentations. However, if this plate were make of iron, the iron balls would quickly rust to it. The solution to the rusting problem was to make ‘Brass Monkeys.’
Few landlubbers realize that brass contracts much more and much faster than iron when chilled. Consequently, when the temperature dropped too far, the brass indentations would shrink so much that the iron cannonballs would come right off the monkey.
Thus, it was quite literally, “Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.”
(And all this time you probably thought that was a crass expression, didn’t you?)
Hey… I’m NOT making this up!
Enjoy…
Unreasonable Requests!
Posted by: | Comments
Today I was reading Curt Rosengren’s blog post from back in 2004 titled, For success make unreasonable requests. I highly recommend you give it a read, yet I’ll give you the gist of it so my comments below make some kind of sense.
Curt was talking about a woman he knows who makes it her mission to make five unreasonable requests a week. You know, requests she has no business making and that people have no realistic reason to say yes to. Get this… she figures that one in ten of them come to fruition!
This is really powerful. And boy, did I have a ‘flat forehead’ moment when it dawned on me that it’s also one of the first things young children taught me… how could I forget?!?
Anyone who has known me for awhile, knows that I claim, in all serious playfulness…that kids have taught me everything I know. And it’s TRUE!
Think about the steady stream of requests kids make all day long, day after day. Sometimes it’s what we would consider a very reasonable request… help cutting their food for instance. Yet how many times has your child made a request that was virtually impossible to fulfil… like the request to retrieve their kite that is snagged at the top of a 50 ft. tree!
But really… many of the “unreasonable” requests they make only seem unreasonable. In other words, because of some arbitrary limitation that we’ve made up… “I don’t have time”, “I don’t know how”, “It’s too far away”… whatever our excuse may be… upon reflection, doesn’t seem all that unreasonable at all. And the persistent child can amaze us by having exactly the experience they requested… even without any help from us! LOL
All of this leads me to offer you a modest proposal. I propose that we spend the next week risking success by making UNREASONABLE REQUESTS.
Reach back into your childhood… before you learned to censor your desires, before you understood “unreasonable” at all… and act as if you deserve EVERYTHING you need and desire.
Come from the place of knowing that the world is awash with all we need and the people and resources to grant it to us are at our fingertips. Be willing to replace the mediocrity with the incredible and remarkable by ASKING.
A well known leader you’d like to interview… reach out and ask her.
A famous author you’d like to have coffee with… reach out and invite him.
A ride across the country on the cheap… find someone going and ask them to ride along.
That kite up in the tree? Well… you’re on your own there.
The magic here is that you’re bound to re-define and expand your notions of “unreasonable” — and I suspect you’ll discover leading an unreasonable life to be a whole lot of FUN!!!
So hey… anyone out there want to make me a personal loan of $2000 so I can get that car I have my eye on sooner rather than later? I can promise you I’ll be good for the repayment!
unreasonably yours,
–Mary K

Setting Your Vibrational Tone
Posted by: | CommentsWe are amazing BEINGS! As more and more people discover information about the Law of Attraction (LOA) and seek to understand it, more and more people people become discouraged.
.
I certainly don’t have any magical answers. What I do have is an exhilaration for learning the ‘Game’ and a certain thrill at putting the pieces together as I discover them… seeing how the picture and my understanding change as I play at being who I AM within my brilliant bubble of biology — that whole blending the Spiritual and the Physical… experimenting along the way of this thrilling journey.
.
I sometimes notice that being discouraged kind of takes the thrill away. That inspires me to explain my understanding in the hope that my sense of thrill may weave it’s way through the despair and infect the despairing one. LOL… makes me sound a bit like a disease. It’s my hope and my intention to be a welcomed one. So it’s in that spirit that I share my comment to a somewhat discouraged fellow traveler.
.
I have been doubting over the last month or so if the Law of Attraction is real or a hoax.
The things that have lead me to post this are as follows:
1. After doing everything prescribed on a particular DVD to attract wealth, my financial situation has actualy deteriorated. This was the instigator.
2. The teachers of this DVD seem to be offering products and seminars (at somtimes exsorbitent prices) promising to give you tips and stratagies for improving finances (hmmm….. I thought that was what the DVD was for……. I guess not)!!!!!! Now I should mention that I am thinking of only one of these teachers and they were charging something like $2000 for the seminar. This was about a year ago though.
3. A while ago I posted a topic asking for anyone who has created large amounts of wealth from using the Law of Attraction to reply and prehaps offer some sugestions. Whilst I did get responses, there were NONE from people who had created large amounts of wealth.
4. I have attempted to contact some of the teachers over the past 10 months with absolutley no reply whatsoever.
Now, I will admit in my life there are some things that have improved, such as my living arrangements and I’m now in a permanent relationship, but because I have seen no improvements in my finances, have had no ideas about how to make money come to me or no great job offers over the past 2 1/2 years, I am wondering if this is in fact a hoax with the real money being made off people like us, who watch The Secret and then get told that in order to make money for example, we have to go to a seminar or by a book or cd by them.
This may on some levels sound nasty but I do have to ask the question and maybe get some feedback from all of you.
It is my greatest hope that my argument here is ‘blown out of the water’ because I have put my heart and soul into this but am now feeling ‘cheated’ on some levels
Your question is understandable. On the other hand… because of LOA’s very nature and workings… it tells you YOU are a VERY POWERFUL CREATOR… and because, indeed, you are… you have created something of a conundrum for yourself.
*
Now that said… I’ll share something you may not want to hear. You said ==>Don’t get me wrong, I have followed the advise with absolute belief but after 2 years, now that I’m filling out bankruptcy forms, you do questions the validity of all this. I’m just hoping that there is someone on this site that has been able to create the wealth that I have been visualizing and feeling.
*
And I say… as evidenced by your questions and the ‘story’ you’ve been telling yourself as described in the above listed points you make… YOU do/did NOT have absolute belief… or perhaps a better way to say it would be…
*
You did NOT have an absolute appreciation for the experience of flowing an abundance of money to yourself!
*
You were not… and are not YET… vibrationally aligned with FLOWING AN ABUNDANCE OF MONEY to/through yourself.
*
Your vibration is predominantly focused on your FEAR of money… on your NEED for money… on your FEAR of not having enough money…
*
To attract it you’ve GOT to be a vibrational match to it! And here’s a news flash… your body and your emotions are power tools for guiding you into the vibration that will match.
*
Based on what you are pointing out above… I can say with some great certainty that even if you have read Ask and It Is Given you have NOT put the processes in the second part of the book into any kind of consistent practice.
*
This stuff requires some deep commitment… along with a sincere willingness to tell the truth to yourself about yourself… and that’s truly tough for most people to do. It all can sound so easy… yet look around yourself and at yourself and tell me how many people you know who are truly, sincerely, deeply committed to FEELING GOOD NO MATTER WHAT.
*
No matter the figure on your bank balance
No matter the state of your health or that of your loved ones
No matter the weather
No matter the behavior of those around you
No matter the current job situation
No matter what!
*
And NO! It’s not about feeling ‘glee’ all the time… it’s about being committed to feeling good and choosing, when you catch your vibration dropping… to stop in your tracks immediately and reach for a slightly better feeling. Because an abundant flow of money sits at a high vibration… and unless you can, with consistency, maintain that vibration by holding your focus on that level of appreciation… you simply aren’t going to be a match for it and it won’t show up on your radar.
*
When there’s a knot in your belly, you’re tuned to a different station
When there’s despondency and hopelessness, you’re tuned to a different station
When there’s a constant nagging headache, you’re tuned to a different station
When you’re lashing out at everyone and everything, you’re tuned to a different station
*
catch the drift?
*
When you start paying attention to how you feel… and you get yourself aligned with the commitment to feel better and focus on things you appreciate… and you practice holding that appreciation through small segments of the day… and practice it, and practice it… extending the periods of time where you’re appreciating and minimizing the periods of time where you’re not… THEN you start drawing better things toward you.
*
It may only start as a dribble…. yet think about this. When you find a penny on the street or in a parking lot… do you pick it up with a big smile and feeling of appreciation that you’ve just received MORE MONEY…
*
or do you fail to even notice the pennies… or walk right by them like they were worthless? If you don’t appreciate the pennies why would you expect the Universe to deliver more?
*
When you start to practice appreciating you start raising your vibration. And it becomes easier and easier to catch it when it starts to dip… and then it’s your job to PIVOT… there are many tools and tips to help you make the pivot to reaching for a better feeling but I promise you don’t really have to ever BUY ANYTHING.
*
The only thing really required is that YOU become a MATCH to your desire… and that can be had by increasing the moments each day that you spend appreciating anything.
*
And YES! It has worked for me!
*
The video below that I just discovered says it even better
ENJOY!

Your Extra Second
Posted by: | Comments
As the ‘story’ we’ve labeled 2008 winds down we are going to end it by ‘making up’ a 61 second minute!
~
Isn’t that delightful? What a reminder of the illusion the measurement of time is… and of our creative powers.
~
So… I find myself wondering… what are you going to do with your extra second?
~
You can always let it passed unnoticed, but I have a feeling this is going to be a magic second that you may not want to ‘waste’. So I invite you to consider the possibility that this second… the extra second in 2008… could be an opportunity for you to CHANGE EVERYTHING!

Dear Barack,
